St. Paul Lutheran School Dress Code

This policy has been adopted by the Board of Christian Day School
effective for grades 1-8.
Please note the exception on chapel days for Preschool and Kindergarten students.
 
Details All clothes will be free of ruffles, piping, stripes, patterns, edging, or insignia (other than approved school logo on sweatshirts).
Shirts Plain (no denim)
Long or short-sleeved Oxford, cotton knit collar or turtle neck
T-shirt (plain white) only under top, tucked into pants, Capris, skirts, skorts, shorts
Sweatshirts Plain or white with approved school logo
May not be worn on chapel days
Worn only over a collard or turtleneck shirt
NO hoods
Sweaters and Vests Plain
V-neck, pullover, or cardigan
No insignia
Worn only over a collared or turtleneck shirt
NO hoods
Pants (boys and girls) Navy, khaki, black, gray
docker or slacks style
chino or corduroy
NO jean style, oversized, cargo, leggings, stirrup, stretch pant or warm-up pants
Shorts (boys and girls) Navy, khaki, black, gray
Walking shorts
Nor more than mid-thigh and not extending below the knee
Capri pants allowed for girls only
NO cargo
Skirts, Skorts, Jumpers Navy, khaki, black, gray
No shorter than mid-thigh
Chino or corduroy
Belts Black or brown only
Belt loops require belts
Socks (required) Boys - white or dark
Girls - white or dark anklets, knee socks or tights
Solid color only
Chapel Dress No sweatshirts
Preschool and Kindergarten students are strongly encouraged to wear uniform dress on chapel days.
Shoes Dress or athletic shoes
Sandals with closed toe and heel strap
No more than a 2" heel
No flip-flops or clogs
No snow or work boots for inside wear
Jewelry Girls - post earrings only, no loops or dangling earrings (remove for P.E.)
Boys - No earrings
Cosmetics Make-up is prohibited
Fingernail polish - one solid color only
Hair (boys and girls) Traditional hair color and styles
P.E. Uniform
(grades 3-8)
St. Paul P.E. shirt and shorts
White athletic socks
Athletic shoes for gym use only
P.E. uniform available at school
Enforcement

The principal and faculty will enforce the dress code. Interpretation of the dress code is at the discretion of the principal and faculty. Enforcement will include the following:
1st Offense Written or verbal warning to child and/or parent
2nd Offense Parent called to bring the proper clothes for child
3rd Offense Suspension with "zero grades" given the day missed
